Get to know Ybor City
Ybor City grew around the cigar factories established in the late nineteenth century and remains one of Tampa's most recognizable historic areas. Former factory buildings, social clubs, brick walkways and wrought-iron balconies give the streets a character tied closely to the city's industrial and cultural past.
Seventh Avenue is the best-known commercial corridor, with restaurants, shops and entertainment venues. The surrounding residential streets and related Ybor neighborhoods add another layer beyond the main visitor district. This blend of historic architecture and active commercial streets distinguishes the area from Tampa's newer waterfront developments and suburban communities.
