Pine Island is a small coastal community in western Hernando County, north of Bayport. It is distinct from other Florida places with the same name and belongs to the county's compact group of communities at the Gulf shoreline.
The surrounding water gives the location a clear coastal character. Homes here should be compared by their individual lot setting and outlook, since the community name describes the area but does not establish waterfront access for every property.
