Orange City lies south of DeLand, north of DeBary and west of Deltona. Its location places it in the middle of western Volusia County's southern group of communities, giving it a distinctly inland regional setting.

Blue Spring is part of the wider Orange City area, and the Spring-to-Spring Trail helps connect regional outdoor destinations. This side of Volusia County offers a springs-and-inland-waterways context that differs from the oceanfront communities farther east.
