Forest City lies in southwestern Seminole County, west of Altamonte Springs and south of Wekiwa Springs. The mapped community occupies a distinct position on the western side of the northern Orlando metropolitan area.

Altamonte Springs and its Cranes Roost lakeside park provide a nearby city reference to the east. The Wekiwa Springs direction offers a different regional context to the north, so Forest City sits between several recognizable places without being interchangeable with any one of them.
