Get to know Black Hammock

Black Hammock lies in eastern Seminole County, north of Oviedo and southwest of Geneva. The county includes it within its rural-area planning context, giving the community a different setting from the more urbanized western side of Seminole.

The Black Hammock Wilderness Area protects habitats along the Lake Jesup landscape, with trails through hardwood swamp, scrub and pine flatwoods. The preserve is a public regional destination; the surrounding residential community has its own mapped outline and should not be confused with the conservation land itself.
