Oakland is a town in western Orange County, west of Winter Garden and near the Lake County side of the region. Its compact mapped area gives it a distinct identity within the broader western Orlando metropolitan landscape.

The West Orange Trail passes through the town, providing a recognizable recreational connection with neighboring western Orange County communities. Winter Garden and Tildenville lie to the east, while Oakland maintains a separate town identity near the Lake County line.
