Get to know Gotha
Gotha is a small western Orange County community between Ocoee and the Windermere area. Its settlement history is closely tied to Henry Hempel, who named the community after his German hometown and helped establish its early businesses and civic life.
Local preservation efforts highlight that history, including the old schoolhouse and other surviving reminders of the settlement. This gives Gotha a recognizable identity within a part of the county that also contains much larger neighboring communities.
