Eatonville

Eatonville is a small historic town north of Orlando, near Maitland and Winter Park. One of the country's oldest African American communities, it has a distinct civic and cultural history within the larger metropolitan area.

Author Zora Neale Hurston grew up here, and that literary heritage remains an important part of the town's identity. Eatonville's compact scale and historic significance give it a character of its own, even as the surrounding northern Orlando communities have grown around it.
