South Bradenton occupies a mainland area south of central Bradenton and north of Bayshore Gardens. It is a specific mapped community within the larger Bradenton region, rather than a label for every neighborhood south of downtown.
West Samoset and Samoset lie to the east, while Cortez and the island approaches are farther west. This central position places the community among several distinct mainland areas south of the Manatee River.
