Brooksville

Brooksville is an inland city in central Hernando County, east of the Weeki Wachee and Spring Hill areas. It provides a town center and geographic reference for many smaller surrounding communities, including Lake Lindsey, Wiscon and Spring Lake.

Brooksville is Hernando County’s county seat, with a history reaching back to the nineteenth century and a setting of rolling inland hills. City parks such as Tom Varn Park add outdoor recreation to the town’s established civic and commercial center. The surrounding smaller communities give the wider Brooksville area a different scale from the city itself.
